Microsoft launches Skype Qik, its own ephemeral video messaging app
Tuesday, software giant Microsoft launched a brand new ephemeral messaging app, Skype Qik, in a bid to take on the likes of Snapchat and similar apps in the increasingly crowded ephemeral messaging space.
“Imagine if you could reinvent the Skype experience, taking into account how messaging, selfies and app culture have changed the way we communicate,” reads the blurb.
The app is based on Microsoft’s $100 million acquisition of the mobile video provider Qik three years ago. The original Qik app has since been retired, but the Windows maker re-introduced a lightweight version today for iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices through the Skype brand, also owned by Microsoft.

Cycloramic 能讓 iPhone 6 自轉拍攝全景照片
之前利用震動器開發出 iPhone 5(s) 自轉拍照 App - selfie360 和 Cycloramic for iPhone 5/5S 的開發者Egos Ventures，今年也為 iPhone 6 帶來了免持拍攝全景照片和影片 App「Cycloramic for iPhone 6 (Not the 6+) 」，只要在花崗岩/大理石/木桌子的拋光平面，就能透過全景引導系統讓 iPhone 6 拍攝 360 度全景圖。
拍攝時只要把 iPhone 6 放在電源插頭上，就會使用內部的震動馬達 360 度旋轉。當它旋轉時 iPhone 6 會自動拍攝多張照片立即縫合在一起，自動生成一張身臨其境全景照片，還能上傳 Facebook 或 Twitter 等社群網站分享。

Retina iPad mini 2 與 iPad Air 2 一同亮相？
新一代 iPad Air 2 已經確定在本周的 Apple 特別發表會上發佈，但對於 Retina iPad mini 2 相關消息卻很少，不久前來自 KGI 的報告表示 Retina iPad mini 2 或將推遲到 2015 年發佈，以減少對大螢幕 iPhone 6 Plus 衝擊。
不過今天對蘋果新產品消息掌握非常準確的日本 Mac Otakara 網站表示，Retina iPad mini 2 將會與 第二代 iPad Air 一同發佈，iPad mini 3 將會搭載 A8 處理器和 Touch ID 功能。iPad Air 2 則會使用性能更強大的 A8X 晶片、2GB 記憶體、Touch ID 和增加金色版本，Smart Cover 和 Smart Case 也會一同更新。

iPhone 6本月將在韓國、泰國、印度和墨西哥開賣
在開放預訂首日就創下 400 萬台驚人預訂量的 iPhone 6 和 iPhone 6 Plus，開賣首周只在少數國家上市銷售量已達 1000 萬台。在台灣也造成供不應求現象，許多預購的民眾遲遲等不到電信公司領機通知。
美國 Apple 公司今天正式宣布，本月將在更多 36 個國家和地區開賣 iPhone 6 和 iPhone 6 Plus，包括印度、墨西哥、韓國和泰國。
10月17日：中國、印度和摩納哥。
10月23日：以色列。
10月24日：捷克、法屬西印度群島、格陵蘭島、馬耳他、波蘭、留尼汪島和南非。
10月30日：巴林和科威特。

Apple releases Public Beta 6 of OS X Yosemite
Apple has this morning seeded the sixth Public Beta of OS X Yosemite. The update can be downloaded through the Updates tab in the Mac App Store by all participating members of Apple’s Public Yosemite test program.
The release follows the third GM candidate, as Apple prepares to release Yosemite to the public later this month. Introduced in June, OS X Yosemite brings about new UI design and several other improvements for Macs.... Read the rest of this post here

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders top 20 million in China
During a three-day period since the start of pre-orders for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on October 10, Chinese carriers and e-commerce site Jingdong Mall (JD.com) have collected a combined total of an estimated 20 million units, according to a Tencent report [Google Translate] Monday relayed by Digitimes.
The country’s three leading wireless operators — China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom, have collected about ten million pre-orders while Jingdong Mall processed about 9.5 million pre-orders, of which 4.66 million are for the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model and 4.82 million are for the bigger 5.5-inch handset.... 經常有瘋友問小弟，平時都用那些 App，可不可以推薦一些實用的 App 給他。這種問題通常我不知該怎麼回答起，因為小弟常用的 App 應該跟大家差不多，不外乎 FB、LINE、Google 地圖、YouTube 和 WhatsApp...等。不過因為小弟有在經營網站、部格落和 YouTube 頻道，所以會用到一些管理、統計和分析類 App，這篇就不藏私跟大家分享我平時最常用那些謎版 App，也歡迎大家跟我分享你的私藏 App ^^
iPhone 6 好用 App 推薦
社群網路方面，除了 FB、FB Messenger 和專頁小助手外，我都是用 Twitter 來追蹤最新消息。雖然 Twitter 台灣使用的人不多，不過如果你想追蹤最新 JB 越獄消息，和國際發生那些重大新聞，通常最快的第一手消息都是來自 Twitter。如果你不知道該追蹤誰的話，推薦男性瘋友可以追蹤@hatano_yui^^

大富由天，小富由儉。台灣汽、柴油採浮動油價調整機制，所以星期日我都會開啟「油價公告」App，查一下明天油價是漲還是跌，來決定當天要不要加油還是等到星期一再加。
美麗華影城
如果有什麼大片，我認得值得花大錢到台北看 IMAX 版的話，我就會先用「美麗華影城」App 訂票選位置，當天再到售票口付錢取票，就不用浪費時間排隊還可能買不到好位置。
iMovie
一般我在 iPhone、iPad 上拍完影片後，就會直接用 iMovie 剪接、後製、配樂、加字幕和輸出 1080p 影片，然後再上傳 YouTube 或 FB 分享，只有 iOS 上才有這麼專業好用的影片編輯軟體。而且只要你是在 2013 年 9 月 1 日或之後購買 iPhone、iPad 或 iPod touch，就能免費下載 iMovie。(歡迎參觀我的 YouTube 頻道 )

兩個月才會用到一次的 App，不過對發票很方便，就不用花時間上網查。
全聯福利中心
三年前就沒在更新的 App，到現在還不支援 iPhone 5(s) 的 4 吋螢幕，看樣子全聯 App 應該是外包給別人設計。雖然界面看了有點礙眼，不過用來查全聯福利卡獨享優惠商品很方便，就不用花時間翻 DM。
Google AdSense
如果你有在部落格或網站放 Google 廣告的話，透過「Google AdSense」能查詢本日、昨天、本月等廣告收入，和閱讀各種網站報表和廣告單位成效分析。
Google Analytics
和上一款 Google AdSense 一樣，如果你有在經營網站或部落格，怎麼能不用「Google Analytics」來分析經營成效，了解目標對象、轉換率和網站訪客分析。
YouTube Creator Studio
如果你有申請 YouTube 頻道的話，就能用這款官方 App 了解自己的影片觀賞次數、有沒有新留言和訂閱人數，並查看各種影片數據分析資料。
PPS影音
雖然 PPS 上能看的美劇、日劇和韓劇越來越少，現在最多的是泰劇。不過 PPS 用來看動漫、公開課程或電影還是很方便，而且畫質也不錯。
通知中心小工具

Google 新聞與氣象
這是 Google 最新為 iOS 設備推出的新聞和氣象 App，用來看即時新聞很方便，也能自訂自己想看的新聞類別和管理版面主題配色，讓閱讀更舒服。
LINE STAGE 節奏擂台
最近我常用來舒壓和打發空閒時間的小遊戲。玩法類似日本的太鼓遊戲，除了點擊外還加入了上下左右滑動手勢等變化，配樂好聽又能訓練左右腦，而且玩一局也不會花太久，只要一首歌的時間。適合我這種沒太多時間玩遊戲，但又想玩一下放鬆的人。

As with any new iPhone launch involving a screen size change, new wallpapers are somewhat hard to find. In our effort to support your wallpaper creativity, the Wallpapers of the Week section is a promise to keep you looking fresh on a daily basis.

The best apps for writing
National Novel Writing Month (Nanowrimo) takes place every November. The goal is to write a 50,000-word novel between Nov. 1 and 30. That means, participants need to average about 1,667 words per day for 30 days straight. I tried it once. I made it to about 7,000 words and gave up. It’s harder than it sounds.

Prompt 2 review: the best SSH client for iOS
The iPad can’t be used for real work, can it?
Even after all this time, there is still some debate about whether the iPad can be used as a real computer. I’d argue that even the iPhone can prevent me from having to pick up one of my Macs, especially now we have the larger screens courtesy of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
To me though, it’s not so much about the hardware, but rather the software that runs on it that will decide whether any iOS device is up to the task. The App Store is littered with word processors of all kinds, apps for shoving numbers into spreadsheets and even plenty of software that will help you give a presentation on a projector. That’s all well and good, but for me real work starts with a command line and an FTP server. Thankfully, Panic has my back on both counts.
Both Transmit and Prompt have been born out of the hard work that goes on inside Panic, and the latter has received a hefty update very recently indeed. So hefty in fact that this new 2.0 version is a whole new app that requires purchasing all over again and at $9.99, it’s not the cheapest app on the App Store.
