And apparently the company has decided to go big in India with a network of 500 new reseller stores, The Times of India newspaper reported Friday.

Apple seeds second OS X 10.10.2 beta to developers

Apple has seeded the second beta of OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 this afternoon. The update, labeled build 14C78c, is available through the Update tab in the Mac App Store and the Dev Center for all registered Mac developers.

Perfectly cradle iPhone in leather with Nodus Access case

It is rare to find a case I adore. Most of my hesitation stems from being an iPhone nudist, which I mention in most of my articles. Further complicating matters is my disdain for overly complicated designs or cases that interfere with the look and feel of iOS devices.

Many case companies get most things right. The protection level is perfect or the look and feel is spot on. Everyone does their thing. However, running into my third year of accessory reviews, most of the marketed cases are boring to me. In fact, my hardware review articles are quite infrequent due to the lack of truly new cases. Many companies are in their third or fourth iteration of the exact same case, merely updated for the newest iPhone form factor.

Standing in stark contrast to the mundane daily cases, Nodus introduced me to their Access collection. Kantar: iPhone 6 helps Apple gain share over Android, iPhone 5c outselling iPhone 6 Plus in US

In the last three months up to October 31, Apple’s misunderstood iPhone 5c outsold the iPhone 6 Plus in the United States.

Moreover, overall sales of both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets helped bump up Apple’s market share against Android around the world, according to the latest smartphone survey by Kantar Worldpanel, the WPP-owned market researcher.

傳聞 iPhone 7 及 iPhone 7 Plus 將會升級採用 2GB RAM！

iSuppli Corp.中國研究總監王陽剛剛在微博上表示， iPhone 6和iPhone Plus在2015年肯定會升級到2GB內存 ，這裡所說的升級應該就是下一代iPhone，具體命名暫時還不清楚，姑且稱之為iPhone 7吧。

此外，王陽還表示LPDRAM芯片從明年第二季度開始就會面臨缺貨窘境。 他在走訪了一圈手機公司之後，發現廠商方面認為最缺的還是指紋識別、金屬中框以及4G射頻元器件。

時勢比人強：Mozilla 將推出 iOS 版 Firefox

Mozilla 公司曾在去年表示，如果 Apple 不開放讓他們使用自己的渲染引擎，就不會推出 iOS 版 Firefox 瀏覽器。根據今天科技網站 TechCrunch 報導，隨著 Mozilla 新 CEO 上任，Firefox 的副總裁今天在內部會議上表示，Mozilla 需要緊追隨用戶，公司計劃推出 iOS 版本的 Firefox 瀏覽器。


Apple 不讓 Mozilla 使用 Firefox 自己的 Gecko 渲染和 JavaScript 引擎，必須基於 Apple 的 WebKit 引擎，因此 Mozilla 遲遲未推出 iOS 版 Firefox 瀏覽器。在最新 iOS 8 系統中 Apple 對開放原始檔算圖引擎 WebKit 作出了改變，允許所有網路瀏覽器能夠和 Safari 使用同樣 Nitro JavaScript 引擎性能。

FileBrowser: an alternative to iFile?

Once again, iFile, the de facto standard for emulating Finder-like actions on iOS, has some competition. This time it comes in the form of FileBrowser, a brand new free (BigBoss) jailbreak app that runs under root on jailbroken devices.

FileBrowser allows jailbroken users to browse the entire filesystem of an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. It lends the ability to do things like rename, copy & paste, create and delete folders, delete files, create and extract compressed files, and more.

Apple stops signing iOS 8.1

iOS 8.1’s day has come and gone. Today, in fact, just a few minutes ago, Apple stopped signing the firmware.

If you missed out on iOS 8.1, there is no way to either upgrade to it, or downgrade to it. Instead, you’ll have to go directly to iOS 8.1.1.

iPhone 如何用 3/4G 網路播放 HD 高畫質 YouTube 影片

在我們 FB 社團《iPhone News 愛瘋團》裡，三不五時就會有瘋友發問：iPhone 有沒有辦法支援行動網路 YouTube 高畫質播放？是不是只有用 Wi-Fi 網路才能看 HD 畫質 YouTube 影片？得到的回答多半是 JB 越獄後安裝 3G Unrestrictor 5 或 My3G。其實不用這麼麻煩，只要了解為什麼 iOS 和 YouTube 要設這個限制，自然就能找到問題根源，用最簡單和自然的方法解決。

首先要了解，目前 iPhone 使用 3/4G 行動網路，不管是透過 YouTube 官方 App 或是用 Safari 開啟 YouTube 行動版，都不支援手動選擇影片品質，YouTube 會根據你的互聯網連接速度自動調整影片串流品質。所以並不是使用 3/4G 行動網路就不能看 HD 高畫質 YouTube 影片，而是由你的上網地點和電信商網路速度決定。

所以要解除這個「行動版 」限制，只要把 iPhone 變成「電腦版 」就好，不需要 JB 越獄或透過 App，iOS 內建的 Safari 瀏覽器就有提供這個功能。

如何 HD 高畫質播放 YouTube 影片

1. 用內建的 Safari 瀏覽器開啟「www.youtube.com」網站，接著點擊上方的網址列，顯示書籤頁面後由螢幕中間往下滑上方就會出現「切換為電腦版網站 」選項。

2. 點擊「切換為電腦版網站」後就能在 iPhone 上瀏覽電腦版 YouTube 網站。

3. 就能像在電腦上看 YouTube 一樣，想怎麼設畫質和字幕隨你高興。

目前使用 YouTube 官方 App，只有在 Wi-Fi 網路下才能手動調整影片畫質，3/4G 會自動調整。如果是在 Wi-Fi 網路下影片播放中點擊右上角的「三個白色小點 」，然後再點左邊的「齒輪 」就能設定影片畫質。

在 App Store 有很多免費 App，都支援使用行動網路 HD 高畫質播放 YouTube 影片，比如像「MB2」或「VIATube」都能讓你用 3/4G 網路 HD 播放影片。

小結

行動版 YouTube 在 3/4G 行動網路下不能手動調整畫質，是一種「流暢優先 」機制，先求影片播放流暢後才追求高畫質，如果你當前的網路夠快才會以 HD 畫質播放。另外有些 YouTube 影片雖然有 HD 畫質選項，但並不表示畫質就一定好，有些可能連 480P 都不如，只是空有 HD 的格式而已。就像 1024x768 照片畫質不一定並 640x480 好一樣，畫質不好的照 (影) 片放再大也不會變好。

iPhone / iPad 越獄失保固？上有政策下有對策

雖然 iOS 設備越獄從美國法律層面來看完全合法，不過 Apple 公司多次強調「未獲授權修改 iOS 的行為已經違反 iOS 使用者軟體許可協議，因此 Apple 可拒絕維修其中安裝任何未獲授權軟體的 iPhone、iPad 或 iPod touch。」最近 Apple Store 直營店在維修政策新增了一條「越獄設備將不享有因為軟體引起故障的保修服務。 」

簡單的講，就是因為你 JB 越獄造成的 "軟體" 閃退、白蘋果、安全模式或系統不穩定，不在維修保固範圍。但如果是 "硬體" 方面的問題，還是能獲得保固。

iPhone / iPad JB 越獄除了會造成系統不穩定、異常耗電和更新與回復錯誤外，Apple 還列出了下面幾點越獄可能造成的問題：

●安全漏洞： 在裝置上越獄會消除專門用來保護個人資訊與 iOS 裝置的安全層。如果從您的 iOS 裝置移除此安全保護，駭客即可竊取個人資訊、損害裝置、攻擊網路，或導入惡意軟體、間諜軟體或病毒。

●不穩定： 裝置經常無預警當機，內建 App 和協力廠商 App 發生當機和凍結，以及資料流失。

●縮短電池續航力： 破解的軟體可能導致電池電力耗損速度加快，進而縮短 iPhone、iPad 或 iPod touch 電池單次充電的使用時間。

●聲音和資料不可靠： 漏接電話、資料連線速度緩慢或不可靠，以及定位資料延遲或不正確。

●服務中斷： 像 Visual Voicemail、天氣和股市之類的服務發生中斷或再也無法在裝置上使用。此外，協力廠商的 app 如果使用 Apple 推播通知服務，就難以收到通知，或難以收到針對其他破解裝置發送的通知。其他推播服務（例如 iCloud 與 Exchange）在和各自的伺服器同步資料時，也會碰到問題。

●無法套用未來的軟體更新： 某些未獲授權的修改會導致 iOS 損壞，而且無法修復。這種情形可能造成使用者在安裝 Apple 未來提供的 iOS 更新之後，從此永遠無法操作遭破解的 iPhone、iPad 或 iPod touch。

未獲授權修改 iOS 的行為已經違反 iOS 使用者軟體許可協議，如果你還安裝了盜版 App，更侵犯了智慧財產權。越獄不等於盜版，但卻會影響 iOS 設備穩定性。

不知是幸還是不幸，台灣沒有 Apple Store 直營店，所以 Apple 新的 iOS 越獄保修政策對我們沒什麼影響。如果是 iPhone 螢幕、電源鍵、喇叭等硬體方面問題，可直接拿回原廠維修更換。但如果是因為你 JB 越獄造成的系統不穩、閃退或白蘋果等軟體問題，修送前最好用 iTunes 回復原廠設定，但這樣或許在送修前問題就解決了。
